Double period of Specialist Mathematics today.

Mandelbrot and Julia sets
Today in class we continued our study on iterations. Yesterday we studies the Mandelbrot and Julia sets. Apparently, Mandelbrot discovered that some iterations (found, not discovered!!! according to Mr Woon) create a pattern. And Julia sets refer to symmetrical patterns created when you iterate with a fixed z nought. Confused? So am I. Iterations are used to calculate patterns in nature and used in designing graphics as well as...making music?
So what am I doing taking Specialist Maths when I'm not even a Bio/Chem/Physics or Graphics student? (FYI, Business student with Spec Maths) I was even told not to take it by the college counselor as I'm not a Chinese ed student (Chinese ed students are way too good in maths). So all that's left to blame it on is interest. And the fact that I didn't want to take Psychology or Law (the other options). So now I better study my Mandelbrot.
